Beam has acted as coordinators of the partnership since its inception in 2014 with funding support from Arts Council England.
In 2015, Beam, on behalf of the Wakefield Arts Partnership, commissioned Andrew Dixon to undertake research into the nature of cultural partnership in Wakefield and explore how more collective action and leadership might add value to the existing cultural strengths in the District. The process included workshops, one-to-one meetings and group discussions engaging over 120 people.
The report highlighted a number of recommendations that could be the starting point for WAP priorities. Following this scoping phase we have been developing a 12 month action plan. The report can be viewed here.
